Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 8 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-08.4
1. Scope and contracting party
These terms apply to paid editorial, conceptual, publishing and media services ordered through schrifton.de or directly from SCHRIFTON. The contracting party is KERNEL Co. GmbH, Kollwitzstraße 22, 10405 Berlin, Germany (“SCHRIFTON”). The service description displayed when ordering and individual agreements take precedence.
2. Contract formation
The service presentation is not a binding offer. By using the button clearly marked as creating a payment obligation, the customer makes a binding offer. The contract is formed by express order confirmation or, at the latest, when performance begins. German is the contract language for German contracts; this English version is provided for accessibility.
3. Edition DenkRaum services
DenkRaum Review is a personal editorial assessment of a submitted research manuscript, normally delivered as a 6–10 page Book Potential Report. DenkRaum Development is a deeper editorial development service under the description agreed at order. No particular commercial, academic or publishing outcome is promised.
Publication cannot be purchased. Review and Development are separate from any publication decision. They do not create an entitlement to a positive assessment, representation, publishing offer or publication. Publication is possible only after independent editorial selection and a separate publishing agreement.
4. Customer cooperation
The customer supplies accurate information, a technically readable manuscript and required responses in time, and confirms that the submission and agreed processing do not infringe third-party rights or confidentiality duties.
5. Prices, Review Credit and payment
The total price shown immediately before ordering applies and includes legally due VAT. Payment is processed by PayPal. DenkRaum Development costs €890 in total, including the preceding Review. Where the same customer has paid €190 for a qualifying, non-refunded Review of the same project, that amount is fully credited and €700 remains payable. The credit is not a discount, is not transferable and cannot be combined with a refund. Full-manuscript editing outside the agreed Development scope requires a separate quote.
6. Timing
Time begins after contract formation, full payment and receipt of all required material. The Review normally takes ten business days, subject to the service description shown when ordering.
7. Withdrawal and early performance
Consumers generally have a statutory right of withdrawal; see the withdrawal information. A consumer who expressly requests early performance may owe proportionate compensation after withdrawal. The right expires after full performance only where the statutory conditions are met.
8. Rights, confidentiality and manuscripts
Submission transfers no publishing rights. The customer grants only the limited right needed to store and process the material for the contracted service, quality assurance and legal obligations. Unpublished manuscripts are treated confidentially and accessed only by people needed for delivery, technical operation or legal duties and bound accordingly. Training general AI models or independent third-party use is not part of the contract.
9. Defects and liability
Statutory defect rights apply. SCHRIFTON provides a professionally performed editorial service, not agreement with subjective expectations or a particular assessment. Liability is unlimited for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, statutory product liability and express guarantees. For slight negligence affecting essential contractual duties, liability is limited to typical foreseeable loss; mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
10. Consumer dispute resolution
We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
11. Data protection and final provisions
See the Privacy Policy for processing of order and manuscript data. German law applies without excluding mandatory consumer protection in the consumer’s country of habitual residence. Statutory consumer venues remain unaffected.
